On times of crisis we eat basketball on bread!

In 2009 we really care about basketball

We are back! In summer basketball players from each corner of Romania shall reunite again on Sport Arena courts from Politehnica (and not only) ! Until then they should train and we should finalize all remaining aspects related to the tournament, being only at stretching after a long winter. We are still looking for companies willing to invest in what we and other thousands call a phenomenon or a “madness”, we are looking for sponsors that are tired of spending their money without a purpose on result less promotional campaigns and are willing to try a sensational experiment under the rim, and of course, serious media partners.

The fans voted! Sport Arena Streetball at the second mandate!

4 years past and we can say that we grew as others in 10 years. In Romania came the best teams, the best dunkers in the world: Flying 101 (USA), Slam Nation (France), Kadour Ziani, Ken Golden Child, Guy Dupuy, Troy McCray, Justin Darlington, Peter Kostic, Dmytro Kryvenko a.k.a. "Smoove" , also players from the firs Romanian basketball league. The Romanian national team members, Virgil Stãnescu, Bogdan Popescu, Adrian Voinescu, Cristian Crãciun, Octavian Popa Calotã, Claudiu Fometescu, Svetlana Drãguºin, Cristina Ciocan, president of FRB, Carmen Tocalã, president of ANS Octavian Bellu, COSR representative Laura Badea, Alin Savu, the first Romania drafted in an European All Star Game or politicians Victor Ponta and Elena Bãsescu honored our invitations at Sport Arena Streetball. We highlight that all the above mentioned names are linked only to the 2008 edition! Thus, the members of Romania’s champion team CSU Asesoft Ploieºti came to show in many occasions their skill in Politehnica as well as other spectacular dunkers “made in USA”.

As in each final stage of a mandate the figures are the only ones pleading for the event - Sport Arena Streetball in its 4 years of existence: over 3.000 participating teams; over 11.500 players; over 330 teams awarded; over 6.200 games; over 1.700 hours of basketball; over 45.000 spectators.

Sport Arena “After hour”

Because we want to compete with Bucharest nightclubs and bars (n.a. and with Dan Diaconescu and Capatos!), and because we are sick and tired of our stamp as street basketball, starting with 2009 we are changing the format! After midnight, we put an end to the “3 on 3” competition and we start “5 on 5”, aimed at attracting insomniacs over 18 years with all the vaccines up to date. The number of teams that could register would be limited as least for the initial tournament.

If a “character” from Top 300 would join Sport Arena Streetball or if we win at Lotto (n.a. first prize, God helps!), we promise to invite stars from abroad, to offer prizes up to standards and to ofer a remarkable competition even on crisis times that should not affect the game or the flights under the rim.

The researchers confirm…

Breaking news confirm the blood does not turn into water: Rogojan family was born for streetball. While Dan trains every day for making another rider at Sport Arena his sister shall pass the master exams in marketing with a paper: “PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN OF „SPORT ARENA STREETBAL 2008” (you can find here the document). We are hoping that after several years Streetball to become part of the education system and master papers in ASE.

For all who do not seem to clearly understand from the above we make it simpler: Sport Arena Streetball shall not stop in harsh times, the 5th edition of Sport Arena Streetball will exist and shall be over what you were used in the past 4 years.
