We want to turn this thing into one of the most important streetballs in the world, where people could play ball, dunk and party like nowhere else. We are very serious abouth this tournament and we guarantee you that Sportarena 2010 would be way better than it was in 2009.

The Challenge of the "little" ones
The holiday is here and the train “from France” brought the kids in Politehnica, at the second Tournament Sport Arena Streetball by Timex. More teams than ever at the categories boys ¨under 18¨ and ¨under 14 years¨, the little one being able to dress only with the t-shirt that was reaching their knees. As a rule, the VIPs did not miss this tournament, the press coup was a tough challenge, the game as the heavy weight ¨above 18¨ and ¨above 35 years¨ were spectacular and with sparks, and the slamdunk contest was attended only by Romanian participants.
The rain imposed that part of the games to be played indoor, however, without ruining the schedule and the thirst for victory of the competitors.
Saturday and also on Sunday when all Romanians were eager to know the results of the vote the beautiful daughter of the Romanian President, Elena Basescu, was also interested by what happens above the rim. Her presence in every day of the competition was aimed at supporting her boyfriend Andrei Hrebenciuc, and some close friends, but all eyes were on her. Anyway she was “shielded” by two SPP officers that were guarding the area.
More pro players played in this tournament Hristu Sapera (Rapid) si Daniel Popescu, Octavian Popa Calota and Cristian Craciun from CSU Sibiu or Raul Flaundra (CSU Brasov), the one that was the MVP of the tournament and lead the team numaibaschet.ro to the first place after the final with Hoops from Ploiesti. In addition, the former international Bogdan Popescu, the first Romanian player ever drafted in a European All Star Game, Alin Savu, and Razvan Popa (former Rapid Bucuresti player) watched the games and the slam-dunk contest won by the young Oynur Musledin.
Anyway, the interesting part of this tournament was the huge presence of kids. They were the center of attention and their effort and ambition were rewarded with applause. At the festivity to celebrate the winners the little ones claimed on the podium with enthusiasm and with the promise that they will train harder to be prepared for the next tournament in August.
The Press Coup gathered 5 teams: Telesport, Realitatea, Compact, numaibaschet.ro and ... Erotica Magazine. The team made up of three "Cupidones" and one "Aphorita" jumped over the foreplay prelude (n.a. to be read as warming) and took the matches seriously and won. As all is fair in love and basketball Erotica team should be praised.
Until August, Sport Arena Streetball by Timex takes a well deserved vacation. Except sea, sun, barbeques and European football championship we invite you to train for the next tournaments. The fight for a place at the Master continues!
